As hard as it can be to find time to just "get away" It is possible. I know conflicting schedules can make things difficult but have no fear, You don't need to spend a ton of money on a sitter, fancy restaurant or a extravagant theater performance ( even though we would love to do this and is an ideal date night, sometimes it's just not possible)
So rather than being frustrated and trying to find the time to do these things, which you may only be doing every few months, I suggest an alternative. Something you can usually do once a week, without breaking the bank, and without having to alter your already busy schedule.
Make arrangements to get out, call a trusted friend, family member, or a regular babysitter or daycare, and GET OUT! Go to a favorite restaurant or even a fast food joint, just to sit and talk. Walk the mall, see a movie or even mini golf (a concept I'm still struggling with due to my lack of skills with a golf club) or even find a all in one place you can spend a few hours, some dinner, and dancing. Yet another concept I'm learning due to my two left feet. However these are a few things I plan to practice more frequently as they have worked in the past.
Although it may not be a trip to Vegas, or whatever you fancy, The main point here is some bonding time together, without the children. Some time to reconnect and laugh together (or in my case, break a leg on the dance floor at the Branding Iron, or break a window in the parking lot at the local put-put golf place)
Hope this helps!
