Hey ladies, I am wanting to be a full time stay at home mommy. Hubby and I have had a talk and he said as long as I could figure out the finances, he would be happy to have me stay at home with the kiddo. Here is a little back ground info on my situation: I work 2 PT jobs at the moment. One is at a university and the other I only go in to a couple of hours a week. (Really i go in to help them out.. not for the money.) Right now we pay 100$ a week for part time daycare. My check from the university barely covers daycare because i am basically working for our insurance. Come AUG, my hubby will be carrying all 3 of us on his insurance because he is now working at the university as well. My question is... Do any of you have ideas for extra $ while staying at home? We will be saving about 400$ a month because of daycare. I need to come up with a way to make just a couple hundred bucks so we can have it for emergencies.. Any ideas, comments, helpful banter would be great!

This is a question that everyone has right now I think.... I know my money problems right now are from neither of us able to keep a full time job. You can always check online for like survey takers and stuff but you need to do A LOT of those to make any money. Another way is maybe mass produce some crafts. My sister in law sells crochet hats and scarves to supplement her income. I hope this helps

Hey I'm a stay at home mom. To save money I use tons of coupons plan my meals about 2 weeks to a month in advance. I save a few hundred a month just because of couponing. Most towns have a free coupon class that show you how to get the most for your time and money. I also shop online for a lot of things as well like clothing and books they have a really good site ebates.com where you shop at regular stores like walmart, barnes and noble, home depot and you get cash back. I also make cakes not as a official business but it still brings in quite a bit of extra money. I started doing that just to save money on my girls birthdays. Having 3 girls all their birthdays within a month is hard enough lol. With the things I'm doing around the house to save money I'm actually making more this way than if I had a full time job and paying for daycare. I hope this helps you

Everyone have such wonderful ideas. One other thing you can do is maybe babysit for another worinig mommy or check on line or in the news paper and stuff envelopes for small businesses. Be careful though and make sure it is legitimate, some are scams

To ad on to what she said, never join something that asks for huge amounts of money up front, those are usually the scams.

A few of my friend's have stay at home spouses. The one off the top of my head sells avon, but from what he has said as it's more of an expensive hobby because usually you only sell to your network of friends. A friend of mine out of state started making her own soaps Her start up was not much and she started selling by word of mouth on Facebook. I sold paracord survival bracelets for some time online. The beauty of trying to earn a little extra is not too hard with all the social networking sites. If you have a hobby like crocheting or anything I'm sure you can make the difference up between that and the money saved on daycare.

I think, self decision is the best decision.
